Terms of service
How projects are scoped, paid for and cancelled — and what is and isn't promised. Last updated August 2026.
Scope of work
Every project is confirmed in writing before it starts, setting out what is included, the timeline and the price. Anything outside that written scope is quoted separately rather than absorbed silently or billed as a surprise.
Payment
- The first month of any retainer, or the full fee on a fixed-price project, is paid in advance before work begins.
- Retainers are invoiced monthly in advance thereafter.
- Advertising budget is entirely separate and is paid by you, directly to Meta or Google, on your own card.
- Invoices are issued in GBP for UK clients. Bank charges and currency conversion costs are the client's responsibility.
- Invoices are due on receipt. Work may be paused on accounts more than 14 days overdue.
Account access
I work through partner access to your own Meta Business Manager and Google Ads accounts. I will never ask for, and will not accept, your account passwords. All assets — campaigns, pixels, audiences, keyword data, content — remain your property throughout and after the engagement.
What I don't guarantee
Advertising and search results depend on your market, your offer, your budget, and factors set by Meta and Google that neither of us controls. No specific number of leads, sales, conversions or search rankings is promised or implied at any point.
What is guaranteed is the work described in the written scope, delivered to a professional standard, with honest reporting of what actually happened — including when it didn't go well.
Your responsibilities
- Providing accurate information about your business, offer and pricing.
- Granting the access needed to do the work, and keeping payment methods valid.
- Responding to enquiries generated by campaigns within a reasonable time.
- Ensuring your products, services and marketing claims comply with UK law and with Meta and Google advertising policies.
Cancellation
Retainers run month to month with one month's written notice on either side. Work already completed and the current month's fee are not refundable. On cancellation, partner access is removed and all accounts, campaigns and data remain with you.
I may also end an engagement — with notice and a pro-rata refund of unused fees — if a business turns out to breach platform policy or if the working relationship isn't productive.
Confidentiality
Business information you share is kept confidential. Anonymised performance results may be referenced as a case study only with your written permission.
Liability
Liability for any claim is limited to the fees paid for the work in question. I am not liable for losses caused by platform decisions such as account restrictions, algorithm changes or policy enforcement, nor for lost profits or consequential loss.
Governing terms
These terms apply alongside the written scope agreed for your specific project. Where the two differ, the written scope takes precedence.
